Here is some funny “dialogue” that we hear a lot here. When
you see “^” that means I am talking, when you see “<” it means the other
(Ghanaian) person is talking.
^ “What’s your favorite color?”
< They nod their head.
^ “Do you have a favorite color?”
< They nod their head again.
^ “So…What is your favorite color?”
< They nod their head once more.
^ “Do you like red, or blue, or pink, or green?”
< They nod their head.
^ “So…Is it blue?”
< They nod their head……then they shake their head (no)
and say “(e.j.) pink
^ “Is it blue or pink?”
< They nod their head.
^ “It’s pink?
< “Yes.”
^ “Oh. OK. Mine is light blue.
< They nod their head.
