We have been here almost a week and we have had lot of different kinds of plantains: fried plantains (sweet, hot and very different), plantain chips (salty, crunchy and tasty) and just plain, old sweet delicious plantains. Best of all, all these plantains are sold on platters on top of peoples heads! BTW some people carry big 3ft tall jewelry boxes on top of their head... it's so crazy- me and my mom hope to learn how to do it too.
Back to the blog title. Anyone know a different name for plantains?...hint: some of you might have had this cut up on your cereal this morning.

I can't believe you have been gone over a week already! I'm so glad we can hear all about your adventures through your blogs. You probably know, but school is starting tomorrow. It won't be the same without you and Rockwell, but we would have to miss you anyway because you would be off at Emerson or somewhere.

ReplyDeleteI love your African nickname, Hannah! Ghanaians also have 'day' names, which are based on the day of the week they were born. Since I was born on a Saturday, I am Ama. Ask your mom what day of the week you were born, and then ask a Ghanaian your day name.

Hi Hannah. Sorry that I have taken so long to comment on your blog. I guess I am like the "Up" grandpa, I am very slow. Actually, I'm trying to figure this out.........the first time I commented, it disappeared when I tried to publish it. You're positive outlook on everything over there is so refreshing. I love all of your stories & it's really cool that you have a blog to record your experiences.
