Olimpiazentrum

We visited the Olympic park in Munich. It was really cool. The stadiums are supposed to look like the Bavarian Alps. Munich hosted the 1972 Summer Olympics.

The view of the Olympic park from the top of a hill. It was freezing cold that day. As you can see, we are in total survival mode.

On a warmer day we went swimming in the Olympic swimming pool.

I don't know if you can see but I jumped off of the 5meter platform, the second one up. It doesn't seem so high but once you get up there it seems so high.

Surf's up

When my Grandpa was here we went to a a beach resort called Beyin Beach Resort. It was a very beautiful beach and the best part was that they rented surf boards for only 5 GHc an hour ($ 1.85)! So we rented a board for two hours and we had a great time. Here are some pictures:

That is me way out there with my dad. The beach was really nice because it was only about 3.5ft for 100-150 yds of shore.

Peel er' up

In Ghana they peel the orange then cut off the top and suck the juice from the orange.

Which one is it?

Here is some funny “dialogue” that we hear a lot here. When you see “^” that means I am talking, when you see “<” it means the other (Ghanaian) person is talking.

^ “What’s your favorite color?”

< They nod their head.

^ “Do you have a favorite color?”

< They nod their head again.

^ “So…What is your favorite color?”

< They nod their head once more.

^ “Do you like red, or blue, or pink, or green?”

< They nod their head.

^ “So…Is it blue?”

< They nod their head……then they shake their head (no) and say “(e.j.) pink

^ “Is it blue or pink?”

< They nod their head.

^ “It’s pink?

< “Yes.”

^ “Oh. OK. Mine is light blue.

< They nod their head.

My dad has been teaching me how to take interesting pictures here. Here are some of the pictures I have taken with his tips:

Ernestina. A neighborhood girl. This is my favorite picture I have taken.

A cassava plant.

A moth on our blue screen.

Hoppy

A very colorful grasshopper.

The rain forest at Kakum.

Another picture of Rockwell at Kakum. He's looking for tucans.

Giant milipeede.

A mango tree on our block.

Hoppy again

This is what Ghanians call blackberries, but to find them on the internet you need to type: "black velvet Ghana".

The top of a Latter Day Saint temple: Angel Moroni.

The beach at Beyin Beach Resort.

Lilly pads in a lake. We were on a cannoe in the middle of a lake on our way to Nzulezo, a village on stilts.

Rockwell on the Canopy Walkway at Kakum National Park.

Hot green peppers from our garden.

Red hot peppers from our garden.

A very small worm.

I have had a lot of fun taking these pictures.
